I'm Looking For You!

Updated: Mar 21, 2023

Why become a Master Guitar School Site Member?

First of all, it's not for everybody, so if you want to pass, that's fine. There are plenty of free lessons in these blogs that you can take advantage of without becoming a Site Member. Just check out these blog categories:

The real question is, are you the kind of person I'm looking for as a Site Member?

  • "The main thing I look for in a prospective student/site member is the ability to recognize the value of a systematic approach that requires commitment to a process. Almost all my promotion and marketing is aimed at that kind of person. Yes, I know I'm limiting my market by not appealing to the masses, but I'd rather make less money and be happy. Teaching something in a way that is deficient just for the sake of bigger numbers and more money would not make me happy. Teaching something I believe in, in the way I believe is best, is what makes me happy; I know myself." (Are You the 1%?)

So if you understand the value of a systematic approach, and can commit to a process, I will commit to leading you through it.

Becoming a Site Member is free, no purchase is required and there is no monthly subscription fee.

Notice also that there is no requirement for you to be on a certain level - you don't have to be an intermediate or advanced player; you can be a beginner. The only necessary thing is that you understand the value of a systematic approach, and can commit to a process. I will start from wherever you are, and go from there.

Following are some of the benefits of site membership:

What Do I Get As A Site Member?

  • Free Lessons: You will have access to dozens of free lessons in the "Members Only" area of the website. These are mostly webpage-based and different than the lessons given in the blogs. Last count was 80 but it's being added to regularly.

  • Monthly Newsletter: You will receive the Master Guitar School Newsletter the 2nd Tuesday of each month. Most of the monthly newsletters contain a free lesson not published previously anywhere else. Besides the free lesson, each newsletter contains recent blog links and any other communication I deem pertinent to Site Members.

  • Members-Only Discounts: These product download discounts are available at all times to Site Members and are at least 50% off - in some cases more.

  • New Product Launches: New products are launched first to Site Members only. A new product launch typically lasts 5 days and the product is priced even lower than the Members-Only Discount. For instance, the full price for Unique Chord Voicings is $149. The Members-Only Discount price is $69. The launch price was $59. Again; these launches are to Site Members only!

  • Skype/FaceTime Consults: I call this a "consult" rather than a "lesson" for several reasons. This consult is an on-demand deal for site members. It can be used for whatever you want - anything related to guitar or lessons that you've viewed, purchased &/or downloaded from Master Guitar School; it can be used as a feedback loop to make sure you understand the lesson and are drilling it correctly. The price is $30.00 and the guaranteed default time is 30 minutes. I am willing to spend extra time at no extra charge if necessary and if my schedule allows. As a site member you can use this option whenever you feel the need. You are committed to a process; I am committed to lead you through it.

  • Personal Response to Questions via Email: If your question can be adequately dealt with without a Skype/FaceTime consult I will give Site Members personal attention via Email at no charge. You are committed to a process; I am committed to lead you through it.

  • Priority Scheduling for One-On-One Lessons: I need to qualify this; I am currently teaching about 50 private students a week and don't want any more. There is a waiting list. However, if you are a Site Member you will have priority relative to the waiting list.

  • Blog Notifications: I try to publish a blog every week. The blog content is random; whatever I feel like writing about, though it's always music &/or guitar-related. Some of the blog categories are: Free Lessons, Technique, Music Theory, Stories, Philosophy, Questions and Answers, Rants & Musings, Gear and many more. Although the blogs are available to anyone, Site Members receive an email notification with a direct link whenever a new blog is published.

Want to get started with no commitment on your part - just to check it out?

Every personal student I teach starts with the 5-Lesson Foundational Series. Everyone who signs up as a Site Member is directed to go through the 5-Lesson Foundational Series.

Almost everything I teach presupposes it.

What will you learn from it? In short, how to find any note, anywhere on the guitar neck without memorizing note names on every string!

It's a PDF with:

  • 5 lessons

  • 14 pages of explanatory text

  • 17 fretboard diagrams, pictures and other graphics

  • 8 demonstration video links

Want to get started? Right here? Right now?

Good. Here's the beginning of Lesson 1:

Ever been hanging out in a guitar store and looked at a poster like this that has all the notes on the guitar fretboard?

So, yeah...you're gonna buy this, hang it on your wall and stare at it. If you just stare at it long enough you'll know where every note on the neck is, right? Let me know how that works out for you.

I have a better idea. Start with these six notes:

These six notes occur on the 6th and 5th strings at the first 3 frets that have dots - or whatever the fret markers are on your guitar; frets 3, 5 & 7.

Starting on the 6th-string, 7th fret, memorize and play the notes in this order:

B E A D G C

Notice the first four notes spell the word, "bead." So all you have to remember is, "BEAD-G-C."

Now, what if I was to tell you,

I can teach you a way to get from these six notes to every note on the guitar neck without memorizing all the note names on every string!?

It's not hype - it's absolutely true! I've taught thousands of students since the early eighties. My students can find any note anywhere on the neck. And it starts with memorizing BEAD-G-C. Some students can get to the point of finding any note anywhere in just 3 lessons - or less.

This is just the beginning, a small portion, of the first lesson out of 5 of the 5-Lesson Foundational Series. You can download the 5-Lesson Foundational Series right here for free without signing up - no strings attached! Download it, check it out, and if you like what you get, you can sign up later. And remember, sign up is FREE!

When it comes to learning how to play the guitar, I'm looking for people who recognize the value of a systematic approach that requires commitment to a process.

For those of you that get that, I am looking for you!

For those of you that become a Site Member, I commit to lead you through it.

Here's what people are saying:

  • "I’ve had three primary music mentors: Jay EuDaly in Kansas City, Ray McCarty in Austin Texas, and Max Bennett here in Southern California. I’m forever grateful for their wisdom, patience, and inspiration." - Brett Ecklund

  • "I call his Vertical Truth my guitar bible. He helped expand my musical vocabulary in so many ways and therefore expand my creative palate. Not only did Jay help my guitar playing immensely but everything I learned also helped with my songwriting, expanded my knowledge of voicings, chords, arpeggios, scales, etc which can be applied to any instrument. Studying with Jay is the most complete guitar/advanced music education one can find anywhere." - Evan Dease

  • "My name is Kenny Salter, I've been teaching guitar online since 2004 and I can tell you from a LIFETIME of experience that you won't find anyone with a Better Guitar Method than Jay EuDaly! He's my personal guitar coach and I highly recommend anyone from total beginner to experienced pros to spend some time with Jay, you'll be glad you did!" - Kenny Salter.

  • "Master Guitar School has been the best learning experience for guitar I have encountered, Jay is very much a patient master for guitar students. Thanks, Jay - as always your material and teaching is like parts of the Bible, it's just there in simplest form, beautiful and revelatory, good stuff happens when going from there to other things with it in hand...Thanks again for your materials and putting your creativity out to students in a form that is a blessing." - Daniel Green.

  • "Jay has a defined, proven process for teaching the guitar, applicable to any genre. And, he has the flexibility to customize the instruction to the age, needs or interest of the student. This guy's the real deal, a pros pro." - Brian Manning.

  • "Studying with Jay, for a few years, was the single most important, applicable and useful thing I have ever done, in regards to my guitar endeavors." - Jeff Wall

  • "I studied Jay's Vertical Truth method with him for about a year and a half. I would highly recommend Jay for anyone who wants to learn the guitar or improve their playing skills. I was self taught with 30 years of playing under my belt and his guidance has improved my skills and made playing much more enjoyable. Jay...allowed me to build on my technique with a better understanding the guitar. A true teacher!"  - Phil Klein

  • "As a former student of Jay, I can honestly say his method is the most comprehensive and logical I've ever seen. While teaching different styles and techniques, Jay teaches foundational concepts that work consistently. No matter what style, genre, or level of competency, the Vertical Truth will give you not only the thrill of learning quickly but will give you an unshakeable foundation from which to grow and master the guitar." - Sam Mier

  • "Jay taught me when I had 6 years of self-(mis)-taught experience and elevated my skill and understanding immeasurably. Now, 20+ years later, I am using Jay's Vertical Truth method with students of my own. My students thrive by Jay EuDalys' teaching and it also has made my job as a teacher easier, more successful and more rewarding. I would recommend Jay EuDaly enthusiastically to any student or teacher of guitar." - Patrick Shehane

  • "There are several things about Jay, his classes and his overall approach that make taking lessons with him great. Mostly I appreciate his experience, patience, availability, and his passion to continually create more ways to consume his content through his website, emails and videos. I would highly recommend Jay to anyone interested in playing and the theories behind it." - Travis W

  • "Jay is a great guitar instructor who really focuses on the fundamentals. He helps you apply music theory to take advantage of the instrument's unique layout and characteristics which you can apply to any style of music. I feel that I have come to a more thorough understanding of the instrument studying with him for a few months than through years of previous private instruction and college classes." - Tim Reynolds

  • "...the way you lay out the circle of 4ths on the guitar neck is a new revelation to me and I've been searching for this sort of stuff for four years online! I've spent the last 2 weeks practicing the stuff in the free lessons and have enjoyed it on a daily basis. Already familiar with some of the scale fingerings and found the key cycle a brilliant way to run them all! Very smartly laid out and easy to put one thing on top of the other. Feels like very little wasted time practicing and I can't tell you how much I appreciate that! An hour of practice flies by in no time and I actually feel like I'm accomplishing something!" - Frank DiNuzzo

  • "I’ve taken 3 of your 5 free online lessons and plan on taking the other two...I’ve learned more in those 3 lessons than many hours on YouTube. They’re really good." - Tonya Foster
